Insulation Class
Epoxy Resin Cast Dry Type Distribution Transformer have three general insulation classes. The main characteristic of
insulation is to provide dielectric strength and withstand certain thermal limits. The insulation classes are
European Standard (IEC 60076):
Class A: Maximum winding temperature of 105°C.
Class E: Maximum winding temperature of 120°C.
Class B: Maximum winding temperature of 130°C.
Class F: Maximum winding temperature of 155°C.
Class H: Maximum winding temperature of 180°C.
Class C: Maximum winding temperature of 220°C.
American Standard (ANSI/IEEE C57.12.01):
Class 105: Maximum winding temperature of 105°C.
Class 150: Maximum winding temperature of 150°C.
Class 220: Maximum winding temperature of 220°C.
